Album Review :: Up For Nothing :: In Trance

Up For Nothing :: In Trance out now on  It’s Alive Records and Swamp Cabbage Records

I have been a fan for Up For Nothing since I heard the Cause A Scene comp that I reviewed a few years ago. They were one of the standout bands (along with Banquets) on a fucking awesome comp.  And they are still kicking ass.

In Trance was recorded and mixed by Pete Steinkopf (The Bouncing Souls) and mastered by Stephen Egerton (The Descendents), so honestly, how can this album not be the best thing you’ve heard lately? It is fast and full of energy, it is catchy yet full of heart and grit – exactly how pop should sound.

This Moment, starts off the EP with super catchy Whoas that instantly get you psyched. Speak Through Silence has a bit more of a serious feel to it. The Worst Things To Say is the classic pop punk  track full of hooks and attitude. The Side of Caution is a thrashy old school punk song. And Weightless is the perfect ending to the album, it begins fast but slowly slows down and lets the listener off the ride.

In Trance is the perfect album for summer, it will put you in a good mood the moment you hit play.

You know what, I have already talked too long, just go listen to it.
