New York City in Winter

New York City. East Village/Alphabet City.

This series of photo is one of my favorites. It was the first snow of that year and I had just gotten home from work around 5am. I was too wound up to sleep and had the next night off. I waited for the sun to rise then walked around the sleeping streets. These photos really capture the feel and personality of my old neighborhood, a little old fashioned and a little gritty. And even though I have moved away, I get a bit  nostalgic and depressed regarding how much it has changed.
